Our auditions are Sunday September 14th 2025 from 1 to 3pm in the Lanier Middle School auditorium, 2600 Woodhead St, Houston, TX 77098.

 

Auditions are for volunteer musicians only. Our orchestra is a combination of union and volunteer musicians. At this time we only have openings for volunteer musicians.

 

Please prepare 3 minutes of solo repertoire and expect some sight-reading. You will perform for Michael Fahey, conductor, and Kim Clark, principal flute.

 

We require a $50 audition fee.

 

If you are selected to join the orchestra, we will perform four major concerts this season. The dates are: October 24, 2025; December 30, 2025; January 17, 2026; and May 15, 2026. Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights from 7-9:30pm in the Energy Corridor. Absences or delays should be cleared with the Personnel Manager prior to rehearsal or performance.

 

In addition to our four major performances, we have collaborative projects and small ensemble performance opportunities that you may choose to participate in.

 

Finally, we strive to make the orchestra a warm and friendly atmosphere for the people on stage and in the audience, so please come prepared to make some new friends and spend time doing what we all love - making great music together!
