Children's Concert
Every year, our orchestra presents a lively and exciting program to introduce orchestral music to a new generation. Kids (and the people who bring them!) will learn a little about the instruments being played and hear how enriching live music is.
Previous concerts have included an Italian Folk Festival (2025) and Peter and the Wolf (2024).
Join our newsletter to hear about the 2026 Children's Concert in our 12th Season.
If your youth is ready to join in the fun, some of our musicians offer lessons.
Kids love great music! Introduce yours to the orchestra and great composers:
The Composer is Dead, Lemony Snicket
A funny and slightly-macabre exploration of the orchestra in book, live performance, and recorded formats. Parents need to know that this introduction to the orchestra is presented as a murder mystery. Readers ready for tongue-in-cheek, and slightly macabre, humor will be ready for it. Also, it comes with a CD of the author reading against the backdrop of newly composed music played by the San Francisco Symphony. -Common Sense Media

Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts
